Welcome over to my site where I want to give a special thank you to Rachael Kay Albers over at http://rkaink.com/ for her design awesomeness and branding prowess. I’m now up to speed on the blog and future Monday Morning Minutes will be hosted here. You’ll still want to get the ezine though, because that’s where the special offers and goodies come through.
This week there is some super big news in the video below. I don’t want to give it away, but it is pertinent to the MMM this week.
Today, I want to talk about getting personal with your business. Yep, that means more visibility on your signature sauce, the factor that separates you from the other business owners out there. For example, any car can get you from point A to point B, but as senator Bernie Sanders says, “There is a ‘yuge’ difference between a Chevrolet Spark, and a Model 3 Tesla.
Monday Mindfulness
Think of one way you can get more personal in business. Maybe it’s adding your pet to your marketing material, finding key phrases that become recognizably associated with you, or bringing your individual flair like Elon Musk does to Tesla. This week, stop trying to split yourself between a business and personal self, and share a thing or two about what makes you, you to your business community.
So, what’s my big news, and how can you get more personal in your business? Watch the 121 second video below to find out. I’d love to hear your comments below.

In a way this is quite a radical message because in the olden days people were told, “leave your personal life at the door”. I guess this meant “act like the person who you convinced us you were in the interview”. And then after 6 months you get sent on a training that challenges you for not being authentic and therefore unable to communicate fully.
One tweak I would make to your presentation is, if you call it a Monday minute, don’t say “I’ll tell you about the toy in a couple of minutes” in the first 15 seconds. I know you as a trusted friend but I felt tricked at that point, because I’d signed up for 60 seconds.
Oh, and… CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jason Stein says
I hear you Tom and I can get them down to about 160 seconds or less, but man getting it out in 60 seconds may not work. Perhaps I change the name to Monday Morning Minutes 🙂

Congratulations and thank you for sharing. You’re right, there is only one of us. We’re not two different people.

Oh my gosh, Jason, congrats!! How exciting. This video is great. I agree with you. So, I started telling my little patients and their parents that they can refer me as “Aunty Miko”. That’s what my niece calls me. In Hawaii, that’s what kids refer adult women – Aunty. I’m also hoping that I can be an Aunty to every kid who comes to see me, meaning offering loving care. Aunts are usually caring and loving. I also have a stuffed bear in my office. I often use it for needling demo. I carry it to any events where I have s table or booth (sitting in a table with a needle on its head). I even took my headshot with it! So, I guess I was already creating my brand with it. Thanks for sharing!
Jason Stein says
Love it Yumiko. That bear becomes a part of you.
Ryan Love (Barth) says

Woohoo! Congrats!
Also, love the message on this one–it gets at the core of why I find marketing meaningful and fun. (Still can’t believe I’m saying that…took a while!)
Jason Stein says
haha. One reason you keep excelling while your classmates may struggle.
Laurel says
Congratulations Jason and family!! Great message, as usual Jason! I’m going to go out and share my rock climbing adventures with my clients. Yay!

Your tribe will definitely be intrigued by rock climbing.

Hey, congratulations again!
I like your message, and in listening to it, I realize I already do that–I do share myself as part of my business. As a trauma survivor and plant geek who loves to forage, I share myself so that others can see that yes, healing is possible, and that yes, you can make plant medicines and find awesome wild food where you are and being who you are.
