As entrepreneurs we all share some of the same challenges.
Close to the top of most of our lists is how to get the word out about our products and services without blowing our marketing budgets out of the water.
The truth is, it can be really simple.
It’s about aligning with other businesses who want to share you.
Now, you can do this with either another small business who has a similar niche market and can refer to you regularly, or by partnering with a much bigger company.
Groupon is a good example of this type of alliance, or the local version, Chinook Book, here in Portland, OR.
Rachel, and I love using discounts and deals for a few reasons.
- It allows us to try new products and services for a fraction of the cost
- Because it costs less, we can find businesses we really enjoy and want to support

Think about getting started with Groupon, or another alliance that can help spread the word for you.
We aren’t covering it today, but you’ll want to think beyond just getting clientele in the door, start to think about offers and services that will help convert these trials into repeat customers, perhaps even raving fans!
