This past weekend I saw the movie The Disaster Artist, about Tommy Wiseau and his production of The Room, a cult classic dubbed the “best worst” movie ever made.
Clearly, Tommy thought the movie was going to be great, and eventually it was, but not in the way he intended.
That’s the thing about creative content. Your marketing, whether it’s a blog post, FB Live or any other medium only gains traction when it’s seen and shared.
This type of vulnerability can be really f*ing scary, and suck the fun out of the experience. We worry that others will judge our creation, leading us to use formulaic content devoid of voice, or perhaps to not create at all.
No big surprise, THIS DOESN’T WORK. In order for clients to choose your service/product from the myriad of options out there your voice and originality must shine through. Your marketing is an extension of your brand, that unique quality that sets your business apart from all the others and it can only be seen if your quirky, true, amazing self shines through.
The bottom line: More Visibility = More Opportunity to Grow

Before the end of the year, create one marketing piece and get it out. Whether it’s a blog post, video, or email newsletter allow your true self to be seen in all its glory.
